DSIs Super Cooper Breakfast a novel idea

The revitalization group Downtown Shenandoah Inc. has
come up with a novel way of raising money and providing a service.
On Aug. 19, the day after the Super Cooper II multiyear
reunion of graduates of Shenandoahs old J.W. Cooper High School,
DSI will sponsor a Super Cooper Breakfast.
According to organizers, the cost will be $6 at the
door and the breakfast buffet will be held beginning at 8 a.m. in
the hall of the Anthony P. Damato American Legion Medal of Honor Post
792, 116 N. Main St., Shenandoah.
No doubt folks who come home for the reunion
as well as locals who attend will welcome the opportunity
to enjoy a breakfast the day after the big event.
For Super Cooper I, more than 1,000 graduates packed
the Lakeside Ballroom, Barnesville, and organizers of Super Cooper
II are expecting no less of a crowd for the Aug. 18 gathering.
Of course, DSI, whose mission for Shenandoah is a Return
to Prominence, are hoping that goal will also be one shared
by the Cooper grads.
DSI is staging an ongoing fundraising campaign to raise
the local match it needs as part of the state Main Street program,
a five-year effort. The breakfast will give the Cooper grads a chance
to help and to socialize one more time before departing.
